LG is a Korean manufacturer of TVs. The company has a reputation for producing high spec models at affordable prices.
The first thing that strikes you about the LG 42LH5000 is the great design. In particular a thin transparent edge around the screens gloss black bezel surround. It looks good.
The 42LH5000 offers an array of features that are not usually found in a TV at this price level. It has Full HD – with a top of the range 1080pLCD panel. It also has 200Hx video processing which means it shows frames at 200 frames per second – better than most.
It has LG’s XD Engine which enables you to tweak all manner of colour, contrast, black level settings, etc, to get the picture quality you want.
The LG 42LH5000 has no less than four HDMI connections, a USB one and an RS-232 Jack for connecting to an external AV system.
As with all flat screen TVs, the sound quality on the 42LH5000 is not outstanding. You may wish to add a surround sound system at some point to enable the sound output to match the great pictures that the LG 42LH5000 produces.
